I'm looking for help identifying the attached tools. They were found in my father's garage; they were most likely his father's (who worked on the railroad) but we have no idea of their use. |

Scott, The picture of the tools you sent are of iron workers tools. The ones that look like the number 6 are bending jigs for scrolls like you would see in an iron gate or a stair railing. They would be clamped in a vice or fitted into a hole on an anvil then a piece of stock could be inserted and wrapped around the jig. When removed the metal will hold that shape. The circular piece in the center looks like a mold for a casting as does some of the other pieces. The flat stock in upper right with the slight bends is possibly scrap cut offs but may have been saved as a useful chunk of metal. someone who knows this type of work better than I may have a better explanation for those things.
